Carol Ferris – owner/designer

Carol Ferris designer width=My education in interior design started at a young age growing up in Dallas, Texas. I was influenced very early on by my mother who was an ardent and eclectic decorator. I frequently redecorated our house with her, endlessly rearranging the furniture, shopping for that new accessory, and selecting fabrics to sew drapes or upholster a chair. My parents entertained frequently, so much attention was placed on creating a beautiful and welcoming home.

As a former Vice President Creative Director for international home and fashion brands, I have designed interior room sets for numerous editorials and photoshoots around the world. With over 20 years of experience in home interiors, I’ve had the good fortune to live and work in some incredible locations that still inspire me to this day.

With this early education in decorating and extensive travel exploring other cities, countries and cultures, I have a great respect for the beauty and historic value in older furnishings as well as new trends. I love to mix the posh with the patina by punctuating vintage pieces in with new furniture and accessories creating a harmonious balance and an interesting room.

As owner and designer of Carol Ferris Interiors my greatest satisfaction comes from creating homes that are inviting, beautiful and comfortable, and most of all, they reflect the personalities of my clients.

What Clients are Saying…

I so enjoyed working with Carol on my master suite remodel. She has a wonderful eye, unparalleled talent and keen emotional intelligence balancing the husband/wife and contractor dynamic. I cannot wait to begin our next project with Carol and I enthusiastically endorse her.

I recently bought a condo on Lake Monona and wanted to start brand new with furniture and decorating. I was referred to Carol through a friend of a friend. Carol was great to work with and meticulously walked me through the process as I had a hard time picturing the finished product in my head. Carol went to different stores around town with me to check out new furniture, light fixtures, dressers, art work, etc. Walking into the condo at the end of the project with everything in place was a wonderful experience. Strongly recommend working with Posh & Patina.

Carol is the best. She helped furnish my entire house which was amazing considering that I started with almost nothing. She helped me define my style, provided many options and did it within a pretty tight budget.

Very hard worker and dedicated to my project. To top it off....she is incredibly nice.

I found Carol through a recommendation from our real estate agent who had worked with her on a number of projects. We had just purchased a lakeside Victorian house in Madison, Wisconsin and had to decorate the whole thing from scratch including all furnishings, window coverings, light fixtures, etc. Carol was amazing to work with. First of all, she has a great eye and great taste. She took the time to understand us and then did an outstanding job of sourcing great pieces from many different places that came together into a very unique and livable house. Carol sees every detail and is particularly good at creating living spaces that flow well from room to room, bringing together textures, colors, lighting and also integrating well with outside views and vantage points. Carol works at your pace, ensuring that deadlines are met and coordinates everything to do with delivery, installation and set-up. She does a great job of managing suppliers, stores, etc. and follows up tirelessly to ensure that everything is just right. Carol was also a real pleasure to work with – she is patient, has a great sense of humor and is always extremely responsive. I have worked with other decorators in the past, but Carol was by far the best due to her combination of design skills, service levels and professionalism.

I found Carol through my mother, who had used her services in Madison to decorate her house. Carol was amazing. She helped me select all floors, wall colors, window coverings, light fixtures, sinks, new cabinets in the bathrooms, appliances etc, and remotely managed our contractor – making sure he stayed on track and troubleshooting the many issues that arise in a project of this sort. Carol has amazing taste and really helped me get the most for my decorating dollar. The house I purchased was a 50’s ranch with relatively small rooms; Carol helped me select just the right furniture to make optimal use of the space, without feeling cluttered. Carol was extremely patient, presenting me with lots of options and followed up rigorously on delivery dates to ensure everything was there on time.

After sourcing Carol's business from a simple Google search, we hired her to stage one of our newly renovated apartments. She took our ideas and knocked it out of the park: the apartment sold in one day! Carol was a delight to work with from start to finish and we especially appreciated her efficiency, aesthetic, and professionalism. Highly recommended.

Carol did an amazing job of helping my aging listing which buyers were having a hard time visualizing all it could be. She came in and made my listing pop and have an accepted offer within 2 weeks of staging it after being on the market for more than 90 days. She was professional and stayed within budget. I will continue to hire her and recommend her to my clients who need staging help!

— Susan S.
Carol’s staging of our home brought many new people into an open house and led to 2 offers on our home within several weeks (after several months on the market). She had a vision for our home that allowed others to see how its floor plan could work for them. We highly recommend her work.

We had a very good experience with Carol. Our home was on the market for a couple of months with not much activity. Our realtor recommended her plus some more interior painting. The staging was very nice, artistically and professionally done. After the staging, a couple who had been unimpressed with our home prior to the painting-staging came back for another visit and made an offer the next day! Carol obviously has a great sense of what works!

Carol Ferris recently consulted with me on the staging of my 4 bedroom apartment in Manhattan New York City. I found Carol suggestions to be terrific!! We have eclectic furnishings including antiques and contemporary. Among other things Carol was able to recommend the absolutely perfect paint colors that complimented everything, brightened up the rooms, and lent a modern appeal to the décor. Carol is fun and easy to work with and takes the client’s taste and needs in mind. I highly recommend her as an interior consultant and staging expert.

I have worked with Carol on several occasions both for staging and interior design. Carol and her team always go above and beyond my expectations. She has impeccable style and can make beautiful interiors either working with a space that has furniture by editing and adding what is needed or working in a space that is completely empty. Carol has even helped me with space planning when I was building a new home. I highly recommend Carol Ferris Interiors.

I’ve known Carol Ferris for years, so it was an easy decision to have her stage my home for sale last year. I was amazed at the transformation of my own furniture and accessories into a beautiful showplace. I know that she was a big factor in my home selling so quickly. In fact, I loved Carol’s work so much that I’ve asked her to come into my new house and help me decorate it!
